Hanson Police Department Responds to Serious Motor Vehicle Crash
HANSON — Chief Michael Miksch reports that the Hanson Police Department responded to a crash early Saturday morning where a man was seriously injured.
At approximately 1 a.m. today, the Hanson Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 705 Main St. (Route 27) for a report of a single-vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers located a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer that appeared to have rolled over several times before coming to rest upright off the side of the road.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 22-year-old Hanson man, had been ejected from the vehicle and was located in a nearby parking lot. The man had serious injuries that are believed to be life threatening.
He was transported by a Hanson Fire Department ambulance to South Shore Hospital.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
The initial investigation indicates that the driver had been travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Main Street when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times.
The crash remains under investigation by Hanson Police Officer Leo Arseneau. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Route 27 was closed while the on-scene investigation was ongoing and has since been reopened.
