Bedford Police Report Missing Couple Has Been Found
BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John J. Bryfonski reports that New York State Police have located a missing Bedford couple.
Norman Lepine, 79, and Shirley Lepine, 77, were found by New York State Police in Stephenstown, New York after their car became disabled and came to a rest on the side of the road.
The husband and wife were uninjured but were taken to an area hospital as a precaution. They will be met by family later today, who will assist them home.
Credit card transactions show that the couple traveled as far west as Corfu, New York, a total of 460 miles from home.
The couple went missing after a visit from their daughter at approximately 3 p.m. at their Bedford, New Hampshire residence on Wednesday. The Lepines had plans to drive themselves to a restaurant in Tamworth, New Hampshire shortly after their daughter’s visit, but did not reach the restaurant.
“Thanks to outstanding work by the New York State police, this couple has been located and will be reunited with family soon,” Chief Bryfonski said. “Fortunately, neither of them sustained injuries during this time. Thank you to all local and regional police who assisted us in searching for the Lepines.”
