Pepperell Police Issue Warrant for Suspect Wanted in Connection with Series of Motor Vehicle Break-Ins
PEPPERELL — Chief David Scott reports that the Pepperell Police Department is charging a man in connection with several motor vehicle break-ins in town.
DAVID FRAGOZA, AGE 33, OF LOWELL, is charged with:
- Breaking and Entering into a Vehicle with Intent to Commit a Felony (nine counts)
- Larceny (five counts)
On March 11, police received several reports from residents that their motor vehicles had been broken into in the Merrimack Drive neighborhood. Many of the victims reported items stolen, including cash and credit cards.
Detective John Coburn immediately began investing the incidents. Using evidence located at the scene, Detective Coburn was able to identify the footwear of the suspect, and later matched that footwear to a suspect seen in surveillance video using one of the stolen credit cards in a nearby city.
To identify the suspect, Detective Coburn worked with area police departments and was able to secure a photo of FRAGOZA, which matched the person seen in video surveillance.
Pepperell Police secured a warrant for FRAGOZA’S arrest today at Ayer District Court.
“I want to commend Detective Coburn for his hard, investigative work on this case,” Chief Scott said. “His knowledge, dedication and specialized training allowed the Pepperell Police Department to quickly identify this suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest.”
