Littleton Police Department Invites Residents to Join Citizens Police Academy
LITTLETON — Chief Matthew J. Pinard and the Littleton Police Department are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Citizens Police Academy.
The 10-week citizens academy is open to all Littleton residents over the age of 18, and provides participants with an in-depth and multifaceted look at the diverse duties that officers carry out on a daily basis.
The academy will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. beginning March 5 and concluding May 7.
Throughout the course, participants will have the chance to take a long look at the history of the department and will explore the following aspects of law enforcement:
- Criminal and motor vehicle laws
- Patrol operations
- Use of force training
- Criminal investigations
- Proper use of firerarms
- The court system
- Community policing and more
“The Citizens Police Academy is an excellent way for members of our community to get to know our officers and better understand their extensive responsibilities,” Chief Pinard said.
The academy is free to attend, but space is limited, so anyone interested in signing up is encouraged to reach out to Sgt. Ed Bussiere to learn more and secure their spot. Sgt. Bussiere can be reached via email at Ebussiere@littletonpd.com.
