Burlington Police Investigating Armed Carjacking
BURLINGTON — Chief Michael Kent reports that the Burlington Police Department is investigating a carjacking at gunpoint that occurred Monday evening.
Police responded to 26 Beacon St., in the parking lot of the Beacon Village apartment community at 7:23 p.m. Upon arrival, officers met with a visibly shaken adult male who said that he had just pulled into his parking space after arriving home from work and was checking his email on his phone when a man opened the driver’s side door, put a gun in his chest, and forced him from the vehicle.
The victim reported that three black men in their late teens or early 20s got into the vehicle, with the gunman getting into the driver’s seat.
The victim’s keys, wallet and phone were also taken.
The suspects sped away in the victim’s 2018 black Audi A4 sedan with MA License Plate 8GW848.
Burlington Police put out an alert to surrounding communities, including the Woburn Police Department, as the incident happened near the Woburn line. State Police and Boston Police were also notified.
The victim was not physically injured.
Chief Kent urges members of the public to come forward with any information on this crime.
“This was a brazen, violent and unprovoked attack on an innocent resident,” Chief Kent said. “These types of acts are not common in our community and we have no tolerance for them. We will fully investigate this crime and hope to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”
If anyone has any information on this incident or sees the vehicle in question, they are asked to contact the Burlington Police Department at 781-272-1212.
