Easton Fire Department Swears In Three Officers, Three New Firefighters at Ceremony
EASTON — Chief Kevin Partridge is pleased to announce three officer promotions and three new firefighters that were sworn in at a ceremony at the Easton Board of Selectmen meeting Monday night.
Family members and friends gathered at the Easton Town Hall to watch each newly appointed officer, and the new firefighters, take their respective oaths and be sworn in by Town Clerk Danielle M. Sicard.
“It’s always great to see firefighters move up in the ranks and achieve their goals and dreams,” Chief Partridge said. “For our three new firefighters, being here tonight to see the promotions of our officers gives them something to aspire to as they begin their own careers with the Easton Fire Department.”
Timothy Griffin, of Attleboro, was promoted from the rank of captain to deputy chief. John Dzalo, of Bridgewater, was promoted to acting captain and John Carroll, of Easton, was sworn in at the rank of acting lieutenant.
The three new Easton firefighters are Christopher Brasells, of Acushnet, Steven Wood, of Warwick, Rhode Island and Matthew Alain, of New Bedford.
Griffin has been in the fire service for 18 years, including 16 years with the Easton Fire Department. He has also worked 21 years as a paramedic. Griffin is certified as a fire instructor and fire officer. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Northeastern University and is enrolled in a master’s program of science in human services at the school.
After taking his oath, his wife Cathie pinned the deputy chief’s badge to his chest.
“I know that Deputy Chief Griffin will be a great asset to the department and to the town of Easton,” Chief Partridge said. “It has been a pleasure working with him over the years. His commitment and dedication to serving the community and to public safety is unmatched.”
