JGPR Honored with Two Awards at 2017 Publicity Club of New England Bell Ringer Ceremony
GEORGETOWN — John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC (JGPR) today announced it received two awards at the 49th Annual Bell Ringer Awards Gala on Thursday at The Revere in Boston. Sponsored by The Publicity Club of New England, the region’s venerable networking and education organization for public relations and communications professionals, the Bell Ringer Awards honor superior work completed by PR and communications professionals across New England.
Before a sold-out gathering of hundreds of peers, JGPR received Merit Awards in two categories for its work with government agencies and first responders.
Account Executive Jessica Sacco was awarded for her campaign with the Groveland Fire Department hiring five female firefighters, which resulted in a series of stories, including coverage on WCVB-TV and two stories over a six-month period on NBC Boston. Sacco was given a Merit Award in the Local or Regional TV News Placement category.
Digital Services Manager Chelsea Belliveau also received a Merit Award in the Website/Landing Page category for her work designing and maintaining the Massachusetts Region 3 Health and Medical Coordinating Coalition Website.
“Public affairs is difficult and time-consuming work, and our clients do not have a fraction of the budgets given to our peers in corporate public relations,” said John Guilfoil, principal owner of JGPR. “I am extremely proud to hear the name of our company announced twice alongside some of the local and international giants of our industry. Professional public relations practitioners perform a vitally important function for our clients, and I am proud to gather with others who are engaged in this work. I also want to express my sincere gratitude to the Publicity Club of New England and its board for their tireless work in advancing our profession.”
The Bill Ringer Awards were hosted this year by WCVB’s Josh Brogadir.
“The Bell Ringer Awards are a testament to the talent, creativity, and vision of communications professionals across New England,” said Cheryl Gale, president of The Publicity Club of New England. “The work submitted for this year’s competition not only displayed innovative thinking, it also delivered meaningful, game-changing results on behalf of hundreds of clients. What makes these honors all the more impressive is that they are bestowed by peers within our community who have judged the work to be worthy of these awards. We congratulate all of our winners, including John Guilfoil Public Relations.”
This is the second consecutive year that JGPR has been honored at the Bell Ringer Awards. Last year, the company received the Gold Bell Ringer Award for Public Affairs for its work with the Gloucester Police Department ANGEL Initiative.
