Maynard Fire Department Extinguishes Two-Alarm Blaze
MAYNARD – Chief Anthony Stowers reports that the Maynard Fire Department extinguished a two-alarm house fire this afternoon.
At approximately 1 p.m., the Maynard Fire Department was notified by a box alarm of a fire at 17 Nick Lane.
Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy fire coming from the rear of the 2 1/2 story, split level home. Further investigation showed that the fire had extended to all levels of the residence.
Incident Commander Capt. Peter Morrison called for a second alarm and crews from Stow, Acton, Sudbury, Concord and Emerson Hospital EMS arrived on scene while Boxborough covered the Maynard fire station.
Firefighters made an aggressive attack from outside the house until the fire was put out. Crews cleared the scene around 7 p.m.
All five of the occupants of the home exited safely and no injuries were reported.
The house is uninhabitable, and the American Red Cross is working with the homeowners.
The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Maynard Fire Department.
