Sudbury Fire Department Battles House Fire Thursday Afternoon
SUDBURY — Fire Chief William Miles reports that the Sudbury Fire Department responded this afternoon to a house fire on Boston Post Road.
Calls came in around 3:30 p.m. Thursday for the house at 587 Boston Post Road. Upon arrival, less than two minutes later, firefighters found an upstairs bedroom was ablaze. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire, containing it to the single room and contents.
“Fast acting firefighters were able to save a home from destruction today,” Chief Miles said. “This was an aggressive firefighting effort, and tremendous teamwork was shown by firefighters from Sudbury and our surrounding communities who came to aid us this afternoon.”
Fire units from Framingham and Wayland responded to the scene while units from Weston, Maynard and Concord covered the Town of Sudbury during the incident.
The residents were not home, and no one was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
