Rory joined the company in November 2024, following a more than 20-year career in the newspaper industry.
Prior to joining JGPR, Rory worked his way up, spending time on every rung of the newspaper industry ladder —reporter, photographer, digital media specialist and editor. He went to work in newspapers immediately following graduation from Penn State University in 2000, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in media studies.
Rory has worked at weekly and daily papers in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
He served as City Editor for the Taunton Daily Gazette and Fall River Herald News, and most recently worked as the lone editor and reporter behind two award-winning Rhode Island weeklies — the Johnston SunRise and the Cranston Herald.
In 2023, Rory was named Distinguished Journalist of the Year by the Rhode Island Press Association.
Based in the Canton office, Rory is JGPR’s newest Senior Public Relations Associate. He writes, edits and helps to ensure every client’s communication needs are met.

Connecting the public with the answers they crave.
When you were 5, what did you aspire to be when you grew up?
Human Cannonball (after an early trip to a Ringling Bros. Circus).
What’s your why?
People deserve the truth. They deserve explanations. They deserve information. I’ve long been fueled by the struggle for transparency. Our work provides a trusted conduit between educators and protectors and those they seek to educate and protect.
