Public Relations
News and information (and misinformation) move at lightning speed. The media landscape has evolved. We firmly believe that government agencies now own their own message. We support our clients by creating consistent messaging, following FEMA’s rule of 95 percent positive coverage. This provides your stakeholders with a full picture of your operations and the professionals who make things happen.
We also serve as a conduit between you and media, proactively pitching positive news to highlight success stories.
Crisis Management
As we know, crises happen. JGPR works with clients to think proactively about how a crisis can disrupt plans and workflows. We help our clients prepare by reviewing policies, updating outdated procedures, maintaining media contact lists, and training with you for the unexpected.
We are uniquely suited to manage your crisis. Our team has decades of experience in news reporting and crisis management, which allows us to advise you on strategy and messaging.
Critical Incident Response
Every day is a training day. The JGPR Public Relations Team undergoes regular Public Information Officer training through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, focusing on the PIO role under the Incident Command System.
In the event of a mass critical incident, JGPR can deploy up to 10 trained full-time professionals to manage media relations and allow public safety professionals to focus on the response.
Media Relations
A concrete media relations policy will help tie up loose ends and ensure that your department is doing everything it can to communicate completely and efficiently both in crisis situations and responding to non-emergency media inquiries. A strong policy will also ease the pathway to communication with the press, helping the department publicize its good work and build trust in the community it serves.
Communications Planning
Good stakeholder communication requires a high level of planning. The JGPR team can review your current communications practices and look for areas of improvement.
Through a communications audit, JGPR will review policies, practices, procedures, tools, and more to determine how your agency communicates and how stakeholders receive news and information. We also will meet with relevant stakeholders and officials, and provide recommendations.
JGPR can use the audit to develop a broader communications plan, with actionable steps and strategies to improve outreach with constituents.
Budget & Capital Campaigns
JGPR creates full communications campaigns to support towns and schools seeking voter approval for budgets and capital construction projects. JGPR creates supporting documents, FAQs, videos, social media posts, and project websites. These tools and strategies allow communities to present a steady flow of accurate information, ensuring voters cast a fully-informed vote.
