GROVELAND — John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC (JGPR) announces that the consulting agency has been honored nationally for its work with the Town of Groveland.

JGPR was the winner out of four finalists for the 2023 PRNEWS Digital Awards in the “Website Redesign” category for its innovative work in rethinking municipal government branding and user experience online.

On June 13, at 1 p.m., JGPR invites all municipal leaders to attend a FREE webinar called ‘Reimagine Your Municipality” — challenging local leaders to reimagine, rebrand and reenergize their websites and digital presences.

Last year, officials at the Town of Groveland reached out to JGPR because they wanted to create a community brand that would be carried through a new website and across all municipal departments. The desire was to develop a new town website and redesign several town department websites — fire, police, library and water/sewer — to reflect a consistent look and feel.

The JGPR team identified the Elm Park gazebo, elm trees and a historical Paul Revere bell as central town elements that could be pulled together to pay homage to the history of the town while incorporating a more modern look and feel. The original town website was reported by officials to be difficult to navigate, so advanced menus, homepage icons and visual components were important for the new custom layout.

PRNEWS announced the award winners on Thursday.

“This year’s Digital Award winners embrace creativity and demonstrate how far- and wide-reaching digital communications can be,” said Erika Bradbury, Editorial Director of PRNEWS. “From platform-specific campaigns to crisis management communications, our winners represent a wide diversity of the types of work that can be accomplished.”

This is the third honor for the Groveland municipal rebranding and website campaign by John Guilfoil Public Relations. Last year, the company was honored with a GDUSA American Inhouse Design Award for the effort, and this year the Groveland town website is a finalist for a PR Club of New England Bell Ringer award in the “Website Relaunch” category.

Since its inception in 2013, JGPR has designed websites for municipal, public safety, and school clients. The company views effective website development and maintenance as a core component of its efficacy at improving government communications across the country.
