Senior Vice President Ben Paulin successfully completes the FBI LEEDA, Media and Public Relations training course in the Isle of Palms, S.C. last week.

GROVELAND – John Guilfoil Public Relations would like to congratulate Senior Vice President Ben Paulin on his completion of advanced training in the field of public information and media relations.

Paulin returned this week after completing the five-day FBI LEEDA, Media and Public Relations training course. The course, hosted by the Isle of Palms, S.C. Police Department, was led by renowned public information officer Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Captain Adam Myrick

Paulin joined JGPR in 2016 and has been influential in overseeing the company’s south shore office in Canton.

Paulin has more than 15 years of public relations and journalism experience and has won several awards for his professional insight and expertise, including being named the 2019 Young PR Professional of the Year by the PR Club at the New England Bell Ringer Awards.

Paulin is one of the first people to jump in to lend a hand and offer advice to both clients and colleagues. He has overseen a variety of high-level projects and campaigns and offers expansive knowledge of public safety and media relations. He prides himself on meeting the needs of his smallest clients with the same passion and expertise as his largest accounts.

The intensive FBI LEEDA training consisted of interactive individual and group training activities that covered speaking to reporters, collaborating with other public safety partners, interview skills, crisis communications, social media, and internal communications.

The skills developed and learned throughout the program can be applied in many ways across crisis communication and within public safety. Most notably, building a relationship between your department and the media, focusing on relaying accurate and timely information, and keeping their deadlines and the news cycle in mind.

“This training was invaluable to the work we do here at JGPR. I was able to expand my knowledge and collaborate with a great group of dedicated and passionate public safety public information officers from across the county,” he said. “I would like to thank my instructor for his vast knowledge and expertise in helping to develop and create lasting skills that will be beneficial to both our clients and our company as a whole. Continuous training is essential in the world of public safety and public information, and I am honored I was able to complete this next step in my public information officer career.”
