Raynham Police Arrest Man Who Fled From Crash, Charge Him with OUI
Police K9 Kyro Helped Track and Locate Suspect Who Fled on Foot from Crash
RAYNHAM — Chief James Donovan reports that the Raynham Police Department arrested a man for OUI after he fled on foot from a motor vehicle crash Sunday night.
KENNETH HARRINGTON, AGE 52, OF MIDDLEBORO, was charged with:
- OUI Liquor
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Leaving the Scene After Causing Bodily Injury
At approximately 6:48 p.m., Raynham Police responded to a three-vehicle crash on Broadway (Route 138) near Route 495.
When officers arrived, they were notified that one of the drivers, later identified as HARRINGTON, had fled from the scene of the crash on foot.
Following a subsequent search for HARRINGTON, Sgt. Frank Pacheco and K9 Kyro were able to successfully track and locate him about a quarter-mile away. HARRINGTON was hiding in the backyard of a home at the corner of Bridge and Althea streets.
He was placed under arrest and taken into custody without further incident. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that HARRINGTON had been driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was expected to be arraigned Monday in Taunton District Court.
Two adults and a child in the other vehicles were taken to local hospitals with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
The crash is still under investigation.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
