Littleton Police Charge Man with OUI Following Crash
LITTLETON — Chief Matthew J. Pinard reports that the Littleton Police Department charged a man with drunk driving following a crash early Saturday morning.
IAN KILPATRICK, AGE 25, OF NORTH READING was charged with:
- OUI Liquor
- Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
- Marked Lanes Violation
At approximately 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Littleton Police responded to the area of 650 Great Road to investigate a report of a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, officers located a black Honda Civic that had rolled onto its roof during the crash. KILPATRICK was near the vehicle and spoke to the officers. KILPATRICK, who had been driving, suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Through the subsequent investigation, it was determined that KILPATRICK had been driving while intoxicated. He will be issued a summons to appear in court at a later date.
The initial investigation indicates that KILPATRICK allegedly lost control of his vehicle, went off the side of the road and struck a tree and a utility pole.
Witnesses told police that a male passenger fled the scene from the vehicle into the nearby woods. The male was later identified and located by officers in Groton. Police spoke to the man and he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation. As of Saturday afternoon he has not been charged or cited as a result of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
