BLACKSTONE — Chief Gregory Gilmore reports that the Blackstone Police Department arrested three men and seized suspected narcotics and drug distribution materials following a traffic stop Tuesday.
LUKE ANASTAS, AGE 28, OF NORTHBRIDGE, was charged with:
- Possession of a Class B Drug (Crack Cocaine)
- Possession with Intent to Distribute (Crack Cocaine)
- Trafficking in Crack Cocaine Over 36 Grams and Less than 100 Grams
TIMOTHY DOIRON, AGE 48, OF WOONSOCKET, RHODE ISLAND, was charged with:
- Possession of a Class A Drug (Fentanyl)
KENNETH MACCARTNEY, JR., AGE 36, OF BLACKSTONE, was charged with:

At approximately 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, Blackstone Police officers on routine patrol in the area of Rathbun Street and Lakeview Street conducted a motor vehicle stop of a Subaru Legacy, whose registered driver, identified as MACCARTNEY, was listed as having a suspended license.
It was determined that the passengers, identified as ANASTAS and DOIRON, were allegedly wanted on active warrants.
During the on-scene investigation, approximately 50 grams of suspected crack cocaine was allegedly found on ANASTAS‘sperson and suspected fentanyl was allegedly found on DOIRON‘s person. Cash, cellphones and packaging and distribution materials were also located and seized by police.
“The Blackstone Police Department is proud to be an active member of the Blackstone Valley Drug Task Force which provides us with many resources to help combat the distribution of illegal drugs in the area,” Chief Gilmore said. “However, our officers on patrol are always vigilant about infractions. Tuesday’s arrests demonstrate that officers who are on routine patrol making routine traffic stops can also have an impact on our continuous work to keep drugs and drug distributors out of our neighborhoods.”
All three men were arraigned Tuesday in Uxbridge District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
