ACTON — Chief Robert Hart reports that the Acton Fire Department extinguished a garage fire at a residence on Till Drive last weekend.
On Saturday, May 7, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Acton Fire received a report of a fire at an attached garage at a residential home at 10 Till Drive. Upon arrival firefighters witnessed heavy fire and smoke from the garage, and a second alarm was struck.
Firefighters worked quickly and aggressively to attack the fire, which was quickly extinguished. The occupants of the home were evacuated prior to firefighters’ arrival.
Mutual aid was provided at the scene by the Concord, Maynard and Boxborough Fire Departments, as well as from Pro EMS and the state Department of Fire Service Rehab Unit. Station coverage was provided by the Westford, Sudbury and Stow fire departments.
No firefighters were injured during the response. The fire remains under investigation by the Massachusetts District 14 Fire Investigation Unit.
