Methuen Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspect for Commercial Break-ins
METHUEN – Chief Joseph Solomon and the Methuen Police Department are seeking the community’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly broke into six businesses over the weekend.
The following businesses were broken into during early morning hours on Saturday, Jan. 23:
- Elan Hair Studio, 45 Osgood St.
- The Hampstead House, 251 Hampstead St.
- Romano’s Pizza, 301 Merrimack St.
- Monte Carlo Salon, 369 Merrimack St.
- TT’s Nails, 371 Merrimack St.
- Rosario’s 1859 Restaurant, 12 Hampshire St.
The suspect that police believe is connected to all of these break-ins is described as a white male wearing glasses, blue jeans, a blue jacket, a hat, and boots. He has a very particular stride (as seen in video footage) and police believe he was operating a pickup truck.
Methuen Police are encouraging business owners to take the following precautions in order to protect their property:
- If your business has an alarm, use it.
- If your business does not have an alarm system, consider installing one.
- Do not leave cash in the building after closing.
- If your business has a camera system, leave lighting on when the business is closed to aid in the quality of video surveillance.
“We strongly advise business owners to take the necessary precautions in order to deter criminals from breaking into their building,” Chief Solomon said. “As always, we appreciate the public’s help any time they can assist in identifying suspects. If anyone has any information about this man, or any of the reported break-ins, please contact the Methuen Police Department immediately.”
Anyone who has any tips or information about any of these incidents is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Bureau Commander, Captain Kristopher McCarthy at 978-983-8752. Any business that would like a security analysis of its building can contact the Community Outreach Bureau Commander, Lt. Kevin Mahoney at 978-983-8753.
