BURLINGTON — Police Chief Thomas Browne and Fire Chief Andrew Connerty report that the Burlington Police and Fire Departments responded to a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday morning.
On Tuesday, Jan. 28 at approximately 8:28 a.m. Burlington Police and Fire received multiple reports of a motor vehicle crash, where both vehicles had been flipped in the area of Burlington Mall Road and Lexington Street.
Upon arrival, crews observed a Jeep Wrangler and a Honda CRV that had flipped and landed on their sides. Both vehicles sustained significant damages.
The driver of the Jeep was able to self-extract before the arrival of first responders. The driver of the Honda CRV was trapped in the vehicle and was removed by Burlington Fire.
The driver of the Honda CRV was transported to an area hospital by Burlington Fire with what are believed to be minor injuries. There were no other reported injuries.
The driver of the Jeep remained on scene and was cooperative with police.
A preliminary investigation determined that the Jeep was traveling East on Burlington Mall Road when it struck the Honda CRV which was traveling East on Lexington Street and was turning on Mall Road.
The crash remains under investigation by Burlington Police.
