On Monday, Dec. 30, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Burlington Police were dispatched to 400 District Ave. for reports of a stolen vehicle, a red Toyota Sienna van, that was reported stolen out of Norwood and being tracked by Massachusetts State Police into Burlington.
Upon arrival, officers located the van parked in the back of the Burlington Mall parking lot with what appeared to be four occupants. When approaching the vehicle, officers immediately activated their emergency lights; however, the vehicle then fled, driving through the parking lot toward Middlesex Turnpike. Due to the location and out of concern for the public, officers briefly stopped the pursuit, calling in additional units to the scene.
Officers then located the vehicle on Middlesex Turnpike. The vehicle appeared to have crashed into a guard rail. The occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene. A description of all four occupants was given to responding officers.
A short time later, officers were able to locate all four suspects and engaged in a foot pursuit before detaining all suspects near 112 Mall Road.
All four individuals were arrested without further incident.
The 17-YEAR-OLD JUVENILE from CLINTON was transported to an area hospital for evaluation. There were no other injuries.
All three JUVENILES were scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Lowell Juvenile Court.
GILLIS was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Woburn District Court.
These are all allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
