WHEN:

WHERE:
Ipswich River Park. 15 Central St, North Reading, MA
WHAT:
National Night Out is held annually on the first Tuesday in August. It is a nationwide campaign designed to strengthen the relationship between public safety officials and residents, to foster community partnerships and improve safety in neighborhoods.
This year marks the 41st anniversary of National Night Out, and the 9th annual celebration of the event by the North Reading Police Department.
The North Reading National Night Out will give residents the opportunity to come together as a community and interact with local law enforcement. Featuring activities for all age groups, the event includes free raffles, a free barbeque, vehicle and equipment displays, activities such as face painting and a bounce house, and information workshops on everything from substance abuse to scam protection and disaster preparation.
“National Night Out is our way of showing the community who we are and what we do,” Chief Zimmerman said. “Don’t be a stranger. Come down to the park next week, touch a truck, and get to know your local North Reading police officer.”
Residents who require transportation may contact Elder Services at (978) 664-5600. To learn more about National Night Out, click here.
