ARLINGTON — Chief Julie Flaherty is pleased to welcome the Arlington Police Department’s four newest police officers.
Officers Keith Acenas, Caitlyn O’Malley, Brett Marifiote and Ryan Hood graduated from the Municipal Police Training Committee’s Lynnfield Police Academy.
“We are pleased to welcome Officers Acenas, O’Malley, Marifiote and Hood to the department and are looking forward to watching them grow their careers in Arlington,” Chief Flaherty said.
The 20-week Recruit Officer Course is a comprehensive training experience and consists of practical and classroom training covering 21st-century policing best practices and focusing on the core principles of problem-solving, procedural justice, ethical decision-making, and fair and impartial policing. Upon successful completion of the Academy, student officers have met all training requirements to be eligible for Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Commission certification.
All four officers were sworn in on Jan. 5 by Town Clerk Juli Brazile.
