ACTON — Chief James Cogan reports that the Acton Police Department would like to identify a man involved in a suspicious incident on Central Street Wednesday night.
On Wednesday, June 14, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Acton Police were called to Central Street in the area of the commuter lot, for a report of a woman who was followed by an unknown male as she walked away from the South Acton MBTA station.
The 58-year-old woman was extremely alarmed that she was being followed after dark by someone she did not know, so she went to the front door of a nearby home and sought help from a homeowner.
The unknown male involved in the incident walked away when a homeowner told him he was calling the police. The male then got into a dark-colored sedan and left the area.
Police subsequently searched the area but were unable to find anyone matching the description of the male or the vehicle he got into.
The Acton Police would like to identify and speak to the unknown man, who was described as being about 6 feet tall and wearing a red shirt, tan jacket and dark-colored shoes.
“It does not appear that any laws were broken during this incident, but a resident was in a great deal of fear and we would like to identify the other individual involved in this incident in an effort to determine what his intentions were,” said Chief Cogan. “I would also like to notify the community of this incident in case there have been any other instances of this occurring that have not been reported.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Acton Police at 978-929-7711.
