AVON — Chief Jeffrey Bukunt is pleased to announce that the Avon Police Department welcomed its newest police officer last week.
On Thursday, Sept. 1, Officer Stephen Stenstrom successfully graduated from the 72nd Plymouth Recruit Officer Course (ROC) after 22 weeks of full-time training. He was pinned at the ceremony by his fiancée along with his parents.
Officer Stenstrom will now begin his field training, where he will ride with field training officers to gain patrol experience.
“Officer Stenstrom’s commitment to serve and protect the community will be an asset to our department and we are proud to have him on our team,” Chief Bukunt said. “We would like to thank Director Eileen Goodick and her staff at the Plymouth Police Academy for all they do preparing our officers for their careers in law enforcement.”
A native of Stoughton, Officer Stenstrom now resides in Avon. He is a graduate of Massasoit Community College.
