SAUGUS — Chief Michael Ricciardelli reports that the Saugus Police Department is actively investigating the stabbing of a juvenile that occurred on Thursday afternoon.
At approximately 3:54 p.m., Saugus Police responded to a 911 call from a business in Saugus Center reporting that someone came in to their business because there was a stabbing nearby.
Responding officers located a 16-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. That male was treated at the scene and transported to a local trauma center.
An initial investigation indicates the victim was stabbed in the vicinity of Raddin Terrace.
The incident is under investigation by Saugus Police and State Police Detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office.
Saugus Police do not believe the incident to have been a random act of violence.
