No On-Street Parking from 12 a.m. Saturday Until 8 a.m. Monday
NORFOLK — Police Chief Charles Stone reports that an emergency parking ban will be put into effect this weekend to help keep roads clear for plows and emergency vehicles during the major winter storm forecast to impact the region.
The parking ban will be in effect from 12 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 29 until 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 31.
While the ban is in effect, no on-street parking will be allowed in Norfolk. Any vehicle in violation of the ban will be subject to a ticket and will be towed for interfering with snow removal.
For vehicles that are towed, the owner can contact the Norfolk Police Department at 508-528-3206 to make arrangements for the vehicle to be released at the owner’s expense.
Residents are also asked to remove all objects, such as basketball hoops, hockey nets, trash barrels or other items from the areas plowed by the town, including streets and sidewalks.
Residents are urged to avoid travel during the storm whenever possible, both for their own safety and to allow plow and sand/salt trucks the needed time and space to operate.
