DRACUT — Chief Peter Bartlett reports that the Dracut Police Department is investigating an incident of vandalism that occurred on County Road.
At approximately 4 p.m. Saturday, June 5, Dracut police were dispatched to the intersection of County Road and Indian Road on the Dracut/Tyngsboro town line for a report of vandalism.
Upon arrival, officers located racist graffiti sprayed on the roadway. Officers searched the area but did not locate any suspicious individuals.
It is believed the incident occurred sometime between Friday night and Saturday afternoon.
“We denounce any hateful, racist language that targets any group as this type of behavior is disgusting and has no place in our community,” Chief Bartlett said. “We take all reports of hateful actions and racism extremely seriously and we will continue our investigation into this matter.”
The incident remains under active investigation by the Dracut Police Department, and officers will maintain increased vigilance in seeking out potential vandalism activity in town.
