BLACKSTONE — Chief Gregory Gilmore reports that the Blackstone Police Department arrested a woman in connection with an ongoing prostitution investigation.
PAMELA CHAMPAGNE, AGE 38, of BLACKSTONE was charged with Engaging in Sexual Conduct for a Fee.
CHAMPAGNE was arrested without incident Tuesday at her home after allegedly agreeing to engage in sexual conduct in exchange for money with an undercover police officer.
The sting was part of an ongoing investigation by the Blackstone Police Department in cooperation with the Blackstone Valley Drug and Counter Crimes Task Force.
“I would like to thank the agencies and officers that participated in this investigation for their outstanding work on this case,” Chief Gilmore said. “When prostitution suspects solicit and engage in these activities in our small, residential neighborhoods, it has countless effects on residents in the surrounding area. Drugs, violence, disturbances and assaults often accompany such behavior, and the residents of Blackstone deserve better. We will cooperate with the local district attorney’s office to fully prosecute this case and ask for the maximum penalties allowed.”
CHAMPAGNE is known to police and there is a lengthy history of calls for service at her home.
CHAMPAGNE is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Uxbridge District Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
