WHITMAN — Superintendent Jeffrey Szymaniak and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School art instructor Christina Maher are pleased to share the latest featured artist in the school’s ongoing Virtual Senior Art Showcase Series.
As part of the Showcase Series, the WHRHS art department and the school’s Art in Action program will be featuring a rotating lineup of senior student artists on an individual basis in the coming weeks. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school is encouraging community members to view students’ artwork virtually.
For the next two weeks, Art in Action and the Whitman-Hanson Art Department will be featuring the work of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School senior Sammy Higgins. The work will be displayed through April 30.
Higgins’ artwork will be on display in the three display cases along the WHRHS art hallway. To view a complete gallery of Higgins’ work online, click here.
Higgins plans on attending Lesley University after graduation, where she will study animation. She will continue to create comics and hopes to one day have her own cartoon.
She uses art as a way to step out of her comfort zone and expand on her existing skillset.
Other students who have been featured as part of this year’s Showcase Series include Erin Tilley, Julie Buckley and Abigail DeLory. Additional students will be announced and featured by the district in the coming weeks.
