LUDLOW — Chief Daniel Valadas reports the Ludlow Police Department arrested two individuals on drug and firearm charges following a traffic stop on Tuesday.
VICTOR JONES, AGE 28, OF SPRINGFIELD, was arrested and charged with:
- Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin)
- Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin) with intent to Distribute
- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor
- Operating with a Revoked Registration
- Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- Speeding
A JUVENILE FEMALE, AGE 16, OF CHICOPEE was was arrested and charges with
- Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
- Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
- Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device
- Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin)
- Possession of a Class A Substance (Heroin) with intent to Distribute
The JUVENILE also had two active warrants for her arrest.
On Tuesday, Feb. 2 at approximately 5:40 p.m., Ludlow Police stopped a 2002 grey Acura SE on East Street by Brownell Street following an alleged speeding violation and determined that the vehicle, which was being driven by JONES, was unregistered and uninsured.
During the subsequent on-scene investigation, police found a loaded Smith and Wesson 9mm semi-automatic handgun, approximately 500 bags of suspected heroin and over $4,000 in cash inside the vehicle.
Both JONES and the JUVENILE were arrested at the scene and ordered held without bail.
JONES is expected to be arraigned today at the Palmer District Court and the JUVENILE is expected to be arraigned today at the Springfield Juvenile Court.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
