DIGHTON — Chief Robert MacDonald is pleased to announce that the Dighton Police Department is currently accepting applications for part-time civilian dispatcher positions.
“We are pleased to announce that the Dighton Police Department is currently seeking civilian dispatchers to join our ranks,” Chief MacDonald said. “Anyone interested in and qualified for this position is encouraged to apply.”
Responsibilities include receiving emergency and non-emergency calls through the Emergency 911 system, determining the appropriate level of response and dispatching public safety personnel clearly and calmly. A complete job description will be provided to applicants and is available upon request. A high school diploma/GED is required and an associates degree is preferred. Applicants should have flexibility to work any shift including nights, weekends or holidays.
