EAST BRIDGEWATER — Chief Paul O’Brien is pleased to announce that the East Bridgewater Police Department promoted three of its officers recently.
“These three individuals have decades of combined service in law enforcement, and are all a terrific asset to our department,” Chief O’Brien said. “I look forward to seeing Sgt. Antonio Ferreira, Sgt. Alton Voisine and Officer Robert Lang continue to serve the residents of East Bridgewater with dedication and distinction going forward.”
Sgt. Antonio M. Ferreira
Sgt. Ferreira has over 21 years with the East Bridgewater Police Department, starting as a Permanent Intermittent Officer in January 1999.
Sgt. Ferreira attended and completed the MBTA full-time Police Academy in 2004 and began as a full-time Patrol Officer with the East Bridgewater Police Department in July 2004. He holds an associate’s degree from Massasoit Community College, a Baccalaureate Degree from Curry College and his master’s degree in criminal justice from Aspen University.
Sgt. Ferreira has been trained as a Police Motorcycle Operator as well as an all-terrain vehicle operator. Sgt. Ferreira was a Certified Drug Recognition Expert from 2006-18 and has also been an instructor at numerous Municipal Police Academies for Standardized Field Sobriety Testing where he instructed recruit officers in both alcohol and drug impairment.
Further, Sgt. Ferreira has instructed veteran officers and school administrators in Drug Impairment Training. In 2020, Sgt. Ferreira was assigned to the SEMLEC Search and Rescue Team where he serves with officers from 30 different communities in southeastern Massachusetts.
Sgt. Ferreira is currently assigned as a Patrol Supervisor, and currently resides in East Bridgewater with his wife and family.
Sgt. Alton M. Voisine
Sgt. Voisine has over six years of experience with the East Bridgewater Police Department, starting as a Permanent Intermittent Police Officer in March 2014.
Sgt. Voisine attended and completed the MPTC ROC (Recruit Officer Course) full-time Police Academy and started as a full-time Patrol Officer with the East Bridgewater Police Department in September 2015.
Sgt. Voisine was appointed to the role of Court Prosecutor for the East Bridgewater Police Department in May 2018. He has been trained as a Police Motorcycle Operator and is a member of the SEMLEC-MOP unit (a specialized team of highly trained motorcycle operators that are utilized for major events throughout the area).
Sgt. Voisine is currently assigned as a Patrol Supervisor, and currently resides in East Bridgewater with his wife.
Officer Robert L. Lang
Officer Lang was recently appointed to a full-time Police Officer position with the East Bridgewater Police Department. He has over 20 years of law enforcement experience, starting as a Special Police Officer with the Rockland Police Department from 2000-07. In 2007 Officer Lang was appointed as a Permanent Intermittent Police Officer for the East Bridgewater Police Department.
Officer Lang graduated the MPTC Basic Reserve/Intermittent Academy in 2000. He is currently working to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Bridgewater State University.
Officer Lang is currently assigned as a Patrol Officer, until he attends the 20-week MPTC ROC (Recruit Officer Course) full-time Police Academy in February 2021. He currently resides in East Bridgewater with his wife and family.
