SOMERSET — Chief George M. McNeil would like to invite Somerset families to attend the Somerset Police Department’s upcoming drive-thru trick-or-treating event.
WHEN:
Saturday, Oct. 31 from 4-6 p.m., or while supplies last
WHERE:
Somerset Berkley Regional High School, 625 County St., Somerset
The event will be located in front of the high school at the Luther Avenue entrance.
WHAT:
Families will have the opportunity to trick-or-treat from the safety of their own vehicles. Officers will hand out candy and other treats to kids. Families are asked to remain in the vehicle to ensure that proper social distancing is being maintained.
All vehicle occupants should wear a mask while attending the event. Children are encouraged to dress in their Halloween costumes, but they must be wearing a mask as well.
The event is for Somerset children age 14 and under.
“We encourage all of our residents with young children to take advantage of this opportunity to safely trick-or-treat on Halloween,” Chief McNeil said. “While Halloween might look and feel a little different this year due to COVID-19, we are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure that this event is fun and safe for all attendees. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative costumes.”
