WRENTHAM — Superintendent Paul Zinni is pleased to share that King Philip High School Principal Dr. Lisa Mobley and King Philip Regional Middle School Principal Michelle Kreuzer are staying connected with students and the school community during the school closure.
Since the beginning of the school closure brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, both Principal Mobley and Principal Kreuzer have stayed connected to their students and students’ families through different modes of electronic communication.
Principal Mobley has stayed connected with King Philip High School community members through virtual town hall meetings. Principal Mobley hosts one student town hall and two parent town halls each week.
The average attendance for the student town hall varies from week to week, but typically has upwards of 250 students in attendance. The average attendance for the parent town hall tends to be 125 parents per meeting.
During the town halls, Principal Mobley discusses with parents and students the Remote Learning Plan and makes adjustments based on parent and student feedback. Other town hall topics include the current college admissions landscape, major events such as prom and graduation and community support resources.
“The weekly town hall meetings allow for students and their families to have the opportunity to discuss an array of topics relating to school or how the school can help them adjust during this time,” said Principal Mobley. “It’s nice to be able to meet virtually and discuss whatever is on their mind. As we move forward and make decisions regarding important events such as prom and graduation, we want to take the feelings and ideas of our students and families into account, and these town halls are a way to do that. We would like to encourage any student or family who hasn’t yet attended a town hall meeting to join us.”
The meetings last for approximately one hour and Principal Mobley usually follows up with a weekly newsletter to summarize the important points for those who weren’t able to attend or access the meetings.
Additionally, King Philip Regional Middle School Principal Kreuzer sends out weekly newsletters to the middle school community in which she includes important information for parents and guardians.
In recent weeks, the newsletters have included updates about the school’s Remote Learning Plan, tips for parents and other reminders. All newsletters from the 19-20 school year can be found here.
King Philip District Administration will continue to stay in contact with school community members throughout the school closure and will provide community members with school updates as they become available.
