Groundbreaking Ceremony to be Held for New Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center
HOLBROOK — Director of Communications Stephen Hooke would like to invite residents to attend the upcoming groundbreaking ceremony of the new Holbrook Regional Emergency Communications Center (HRECC).
WHEN:
Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m.
WHERE:
Holbrook Public Safety Building, 300 South Franklin St.
WHAT:
The public is invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the new communications center.
The planned 5,967 square foot expansion will provide space for up to 12 dispatch consoles and dramatically increase the equipment room space available for any future equipment upgrades.
Construction of the communications center is estimated to take about 10 months.
“We are looking forward to moving forward with this project,” Director Hooke said. “The finished product will modernize and expand our dispatch center and will result in many operational benefits.”
The project is funded by grants from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security and the State 911 Department. The HRECC received a $1.939 million grant in 2018 to begin the initial planning and evaluation process for the new building, and a $3 million grant to fully fund construction earlier this month.
Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to Lauren Mielke at lmielke@ncrecc.com by Friday, Sept. 6.
