Newburyport Police Urgently Seeking Information after Juvenile Leaves Residential Program With Infant Son
Police Seeking Gray 1998 Honda CRV, Massachusetts registration 4ZN892
NEWBURYPORT — City Marshal Mark Murray reports that the Newburyport Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance after a 15 year old juvenile left a local residential program with her 4 month old son.
Police are seeking Shantel Van Voorhis, age 15, and her son, Jacob Van Voorhis, 4-months old.
Today at 2:25 a.m., Shantel left with her 4 month old son, Jacob Van Voorhis, from DARE Family services in Newburyport where they were both residing.
Shantel left without Jacob’s antibiotic for an ear infection, and he is on special soy formula. The baby is sick and police are concerned for the well-being of the infant.
It is unknown if the child is in a baby seat, and Shantel left his diaper bag behind.
Shantel has ties to Holyoke and Springfield. She might be in the company of Jonathan Heredia, who may be operating a gray, 1998 Honda CRV, Massachusetts registration 4ZN892, which was seen earlier today in the area of DARE Family Services
If anyone sees the vehicle or any of the people involved, please contact the Newburyport Police Department at 978-462-4411 or dial 911.
