Georgetown Police Hold Food Drive to Benefit Our Neighbors’ Table
GEORGETOWN — Chief Donald C. Cudmore is pleased to announce that the Georgetown Police Department held a successful holiday drive over the weekend to benefit a local food pantry.
On Saturday, Nov. 18, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Georgetown Police Officers were stationed outside Crosby’s Marketplace for their first fill-a-cruiser holiday drive to benefit Our Neighbors’ Table in Amesbury.
Throughout the day, officers collected 1,785 pounds of food and personal care items, along with gift cards that can be used to purchase needed items, to donate to the food pantry. One resident even donated a turkey! The event was organized by Detective Matt Carapellucci and Officer Joanne Morrissey.
“I am extremely proud that these officers took the opportunity to coordinate and volunteer their time for this important cause,” Chief Cudmore said. “The outpouring of support from the community was unbelievable. Thank you to everyone who made this holiday drive such a success.”
The Georgetown Police Department would like to thank Crosby’s Marketplace and Lisco Development Group Inc. for their help with the event.
