Hull Police Arrest Man for Breaking and Entering into Motor Vehicle
HULL — Chief John E. Dunn reports that the Hull Police Department arrested a man for allegedly breaking and entering into a motor vehicle early this morning.
ANTHONY COLEMAN, AGE 27, OF HULL is charged with:
- Breaking and Entering in the Nighttime for a Felony
- Malicious Destruction of Property
- Attempted Larceny
On Thursday, Aug. 31, at approximately 2 a.m., a Hull Police Officer was dispatched to Nantasket Avenue for a report of a suspicious male. The reporting party stated that the man appeared to be taking items out of a vehicle parked on the street. He was described as a white male wearing dark shorts and a blue sweatshirt.
Upon arrival, the Hull Officer observed a man fitting that description looking inside the passenger side of a Ford Explorer. All four doors of the vehicle were open and several items from inside the car had been thrown onto the street and sidewalk.
The Hull Officer approached the man, later identified as COLEMAN, and following an on scene investigation, placed him under arrest.
While on scene, a woman approached police and stated she saw COLEMAN going through the Ford Explorer and that he later appeared to try and start it. Further investigation revealed a metal object had been forced into the ignition of the vehicle.
COLEMAN was transported and booked at the Hull Police Department, where he was held on $340 cash bail pending his arraignment at Hingham District Court , which was scheduled for this morning.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
