Photos: Stoneham Police Searching for Attempted Armed Robbery Suspect
STONEHAM — Chief James McIntyre reports that the Stoneham Police Department is actively searching for a suspect allegedly involved in an attempted armed robbery this week.
On Wednesday, Dec. 7 at approximately 9:03 p.m., Stoneham Police responded to a panic alarm at the Spot Pond Mobil gas station, 2 South St.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect entered the store, demanding money from the clerk while holding a sharp object that police believe to be either a knife or a screwdriver. The clerk was able to push the panic alarm and the suspect fled the store with nothing, heading south on Main Street. No injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40’s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build, gray facial hair and an obvious limp. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie, gray sweatpants and black sneakers, and driving an older model gray sedan that is missing the front passenger side hubcap.
The incident remains under investigation by the Stoneham Police Department. Anyone with information on this incident should call Stoneham Police at 781-438-1215.
