*Joint Press Release* Littleton Police and Fire Departments Respond to Single Occupant Plane Crash
LITTLETON — Police Chief Matthew King and Fire Chief Scott Wodzinski report that the police and fire departments responded to a single occupant plane crash this afternoon with no injuries.
Just before 2 p.m., police received a report that a plane had crashed in the area of 215 Harwood Ave.
Upon arrival to the scene, police and fire learned that the male pilot, a flight school student through Minute Man Air Field in Stow, had been flying a single-engine Cessna plane at about 2,000 feet when he lost all power.
The pilot, who knew the area, guided the plane to a field on Harwood Avenue, which then went down a hill and crashed into several trees before stopping.
The pilot was the only occupant and was not injured. The plane sustained significant damage.
The Federal Aviation Administration, after seeing pictures of the plane, cleared it to be returned to Minute Man Air Field.
