Concord Police Charge Man for Indecent Assault and Battery
CONCORD — Chief Joseph O’Connor reports that the Concord Police Department charged the man allegedly responsible for indecent assault and battery on a woman last week.
EDWARD P. FITCH, AGE 27, HOMELESS is charged with:
- Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person 14 or Over
- Disorderly Conduct
- Accost/Annoying a Person of the Opposite Sex
FITCH surrendered himself at Concord District Court this morning after police had secured a warrant for his arrest.
On May 24, at approximately 12:45 p.m., an indecent assault and battery occurred at a Commonwealth Avenue location in West Concord. Detectives involved in the investigation were able to obtain video surveillance and still photos of the suspect from a business in West Concord.
Concord Detectives conducted a thorough investigation, which included witness statements, and identified FITCH as the suspect. The Detectives were then able to obtain an arrest warrant from Concord District Court.
“Thank you to all those who provided information to our department,” Chief O’Connor said. “This case is a great of example of how quickly a suspect can be identified when the public and police work together.”
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
