Bedford Police Investigating Serious Head-on Collision with Injuries
BEDFORD, N.H. — Chief John Bryfonski reports that the Bedford Police Department is investigating a serious two-car motor vehicle crash that occurred on New Boston Road yesterday afternoon.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, officers responded to a head-on collision on New Boston Road in the area of Esther Drive. Upon arrival, units observed a 2000 Volvo 70, operated by a 23-year-old male, in the roadway with significant damage. The second vehicle, a 2008 Toyota Sienna, operated by a 69-year-old male, had traveled down an embankment on the side of the roadway after the crash.
An on-scene investigation revealed the Volvo was traveling eastbound on New Boston Road and crossed over the double yellow center line, into the path of the Toyota Sienna which was traveling westbound. The two vehicles collided head-on before separating to their final resting positions.
The Bedford Police Department Technical Accident Reconstruction (TAR) Team was called out to investigate and New Boston Road was closed until approximately 8:45 p.m.
“We are actively investigating what caused this head-on crash,” Chief Bryfonski said. “If anyone has information about this incident, please contact Bedford Police.”
The 23-year-old male suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Bedford Police are still investigating this crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bedford Police Department at (603) 472-5113.
