Dunstable Police Investigating Stabbing that Left 19-Year-Old with Serious Injuries
DUNSTABLE — Police Chief James G. Downes III reports that the Dunstable Police Department is investigating the stabbing of a teenage male at a house party that left him with serious injuries,
Dunstable Police were called to an address on Adams Street at 3:43 a.m. Saturday for a report of a fight and disturbance. Officers arrived two minutes later to find a male who had been stabbed multiple times.
One officer rendered medical aid to the victim while a second Dunstable Police officer secured the area to ensure that the suspect was not still in the vicinity.
Minutes later, Groton and Pepperell Police assisted Dunstable Police in search of the area which resulted in the location and arrest of a suspect walking near the intersection of Adams and Kemp streets.
The victim was taken by Trinity Ambulance to Lowell General Hospital and later transported via medical helicopter to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston with serious injuries. The victim underwent emergency surgery on Saturday in Boston.
The suspect, identified as AARON FOX, AGE 18, OF PEPPERELL, was arrested at the scene. He has been charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Additional charges may follow.
“Our officers responded swiftly and professionally to a violent crime in progress and were able to render aid to the victim while simultaneously securing the perimeter,” Chief Downes said. “We do not believe this was a random act of violence. The victim and suspect appear to be known to each other. This is a senseless act of violence in our community, but we want all residents to know that there does not appear to be any danger to the public.”
The incident is under investigation by Dunstable Police and State Police Assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
The Dunstable Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
FOX is being held pending his arraignment Monday in Ayer District Court. All Dunstable prisoners are held at the Groton Police Department thanks to an agreement between the two departments.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
