Wakefield Police Department Searching for Missing 63-Year-Old Woman
WAKEFIELD — Police Chief Rick Smith reports that the Wakefield Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a 63-year-old woman who went missing Thursday night.
The woman was last seen at 8:30 p.m. in the area of North Avenue by Lake Quannapowitt when she left the house to get a newspaper and did not return.
Wakefield Police were notified at approximately 10 p.m. and immediately began an intensive search.
Wakefield officers, along with numerous officers and K9 units from NEMLEC Member Police Departments and the Massachusetts State Police conducted a thorough search all evening, but have not located her yet. Additional officers are joining the search party as the day begins.
The missing woman is 5’2″ tall, weighing 140 lbs. She has dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a long brown winter jacket, blue jeans, a black silk shirt, and gray sneakers with orange laces.
Suffers from medical conditions requiring medication and may be disoriented.
