Photos and Video: Concord Police Seeking Gym Credit Card Thief
CONCORD — Police Chief Joseph O’Connor reports that the Concord Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a thief who has twice stolen credit cards from the locker room of a local gym and used them to go on expensive shopping sprees.
On Feb. 11 and again on Feb. 19, the man pictured in the attached photos entered the Beede Center Gym, located near Concord-Carlisle High School. On Feb. 11, the suspect stole a victim’s Citizen’s Bank debit card, located the personal identification number, and withdrew more than $3,000 from ATMs in Concord and Acton. He also went to jewelry stores in Leominster and purchased more than $8,000 worth of merchandise.
On Feb. 19, the suspect came into the gym, sporting a black beard and a dark peacoat. This time, he stole an American Express Card and used it at multiple stores in the Natick Mall and on Newbury Street in Boston.
“This thief has stolen multiple credit cards from unsuspecting residents and used them go treat himself to lavish shopping sprees all around the Commonwealth,” Chief O’Connor said. “We are asking for the public’s help in identifying him so that we can bring him to justice before he strikes again.”
The suspect is described as a tall, olive-skinned male, about 6’2″ tall, weighing about 180 lbs. He dresses well and does not speak with any sort of accent.
He may be driving a dark-colored Ford Fusion sedan, possibly with out-of-state plates.
The suspect may be traveling with a second man, pictured below. Police are also seeking to identify this man.
If anyone recognizes the suspect in the photos, they are urged to call Concord Police Detectives at 978-318-3400. All callers may remain anonymous.
