Arlington Police Arrest Man On Child Pornography Charges
ARLINGTON — Police Chief Frederick Ryan announces that earlier this evening, Arlington Police Detectives raided the Renfrew Street home of a local man and arrested him for allegedly possessing child pornography.
ZACHARY MONTE, AGE 27 OF ARLINGTON was arrested at the scene.
Arlington detectives worked in conjunction with the Office of Attorney General Martha Coakley, which investigates the proliferation of child pornography. The Attorney General’s office notified Arlington Police that State Troopers assigned to the office had traced the social media activity of someone suspected to possess child pornography to an Internet Protocol address associated with MONTE’S home on on Renfrew Street.
A police task force made up of Arlington Police, State Police, and a forensic examiner searched MONTE’S home on Thursday and examined his computer. MONTE was interviewed at the scene and subsequently placed under arrest. He was transported to the Arlington Police Department where he was booked and then transferred to the Medford State Police Barracks.
“This was a good example of inter-agency cooperation, which today resulted in the apprehension of a suspect whose alleged online activity contributed to the exploitation of children,” Chief Ryan said.
Any further questions, including questions about court appearances, should be directed to the Attorney General’s office.
