BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher Delmonte reports that the Bridgewater Police Department received a report of an attempted kidnapping in the early morning hours today. After further investigation by Bridgewater Police Detectives and extensive interviews, the incident did not occur and the reporting party has recanted the report.

MELROSE — Police Chief Michael L. Lyle reports that the Melrose Police Department responded to a home on Prospect Street on Saturday evening after receiving a computer-generated phone call from an unknown caller stating that there were “shots fired” and an “active shooter” at the location.
