ANDOVER — Chief Patrick Keefe reports that the Andover Police Department is actively searching for a man involved in an armed robbery this morning at CVS.

At approximately 7:30 a.m., Andover Police responded to CVS, 68 Main St., for a report of an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, police learned that a man had walked into the store, approached the pharmacy counter, brandished a firearm and demanded a pharmacist provide him with prescription drugs.

The man then fled with an unknown quantity of prescriptions.

He is described as approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a face mask, blue jeans and a black sweatshirt.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Doherty Middle School, which is located near CVS, briefly sheltered in place while police searched for the suspect.

Andover Police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying the suspect. Anyone who was in CVS at the time of the robbery, or who may have seen something before or after, is urged to call the Andover Police Department at 978-475-0411. All tips can remain anonymous.
