The Portal earned honorable mentions in two categories — Blog and Public Affairs Campaign — at the 2018 PRNews Digital Awards. Since its creation, the portal has become a visually engaging outlet for city news that promotes positive developments in a city that is undergoing a revitalization effort.
It also serves as an outlet for city businesses and civic groups to promote their events via the events calendar, while JGPR staff have worked closely with individual businesses and economic development staff to create feature stories to help increase the page’s social media reach and engagement.
JGPR also created the branding for the portal, drawing upon city landmarks and imagery to develop a fresh, timeless logo unique to the portal.
