HINGHAM — Town Administrator Tom Mayo and Town Clerk Carol Falvey are pleased to announce that a special ceremony took place at Town Hall recently honoring previous Town Clerk Eileen McCracken.
On Monday, April 11, the Town unveiled the latest photo on the wall of the Town Clerk’s office honoring esteemed past clerks. The photo of McCracken was put on display during a ceremony attended by Falvey, members of the Town Hall staff, and McCracken herself.
McCracken served as Town Clerk for 24 years, and worked for the Town for 35 years total before she retired last summer. She was the second woman to hold the office of Hingham Town Clerk, and the first to do so since the 1920s.
She was described as having a great dedication and love for the Town, serving as a mentor for Falvey during the transition.
“Eileen has always been selfless with her time and patient with our questions,” Falvey said. “She tells us all the time that our success is her success. It truly has been a privilege to work with her, and the photo on the wall reminds us all of Eileen’s passion for serving the residents of Hingham.”
